Hi, my name is Elleanna Patterson. I am a rising junior studying mechanical engineering at the University of Miami. I live in Bucks County, right outside of Philadelphia, but I will be spending a lot of time in the city this summer.

In addition to this summer class, I am working part time as an intern at Pennoni Associates. More specifically I will be working in the energy division, learning about a software that maximizes energy efficiency and therefore reduces extraneous expenditures. I am excited to finally get some real life engineering experience and get a first hand look at what the average day to day activities of an engineer can be like.

I chose mechanical engineering because of its broad spectrum of paths I can take with it. I am interested in mechanical design but have not had enough experience nor many classes on it yet to truly tell if it is what I want to do. I am open to trying new things and discovering what I like and what I dont, luckily I have a few more years to find out!
