Combo lights are a waste of time. The flash side is weak, the video light is weak, and you end up having to buy more stuff anyway.
I shoot a Canon 7D, including video. I have several of the bodies to work with, and have come up with 2 options. 1, which most can't do, is to have one camera mounting a flash and one camera mounting a video light, and alternate as I need them. This is the best solution, but expensive.
The second option is the one I use more... Canon 7D with 580 EX II flash in hot shoe, and a Sony 20 watt video light on an L bracket. Both lights on camera, taking less than 2 seconds to switch between them. This way I have good flash, and I have fairly decent video light. I'm looking at replacing the current 2-bulb Sony with an LED array video light, more for not having to worry about hot bulbs than anything else.

Is the United States in a hyper-violent environment right now?It's 3:48 am. I'm sitting in my yard with an elderly dying German Shepherd and his two canine companions. Early last evening, he chose to use the last of his strength to come outside. We've been listening to the wind rustle through the trees. It is silent. Far off in the distance, I can hear the faint sound of tires whining on the highway. There is no traffic in our neighborhood. The neighbors wake early to go to work or send their kids off to school. There are a few older people like myself who could snooze the mornings away but we are few and disinclined to spend the nights doing anything but quiet sedentary activities.
The dogs alerted on something near the fence. I didn't bother to look. It was a near 5050 split between a rabbit or a mouse. Had either of the dogs caught the rodent, that would be the most violent act this neighborhood has seen in 30 years.
So, no, I don't think that a place where an woman can sit alone through the night without fear or incident can be called a violent environment - much less a hyper one

Why are LCD and LED so prefered over plasma TVs?So, as a starting point, plasma TV's are "dimmer" and don't overcome the glare problems as readily as their brighter LCD and LED cousins. If you have a dark entertainment/movie room AND you love (yes, I said love) action sports, then Plasma may be for you. Plasma TV's interpret action sports better than LCD. Having said that, make sure you spend time in front of both types of sets watching action sports - I have done this and, as a hockey fan, find that the differences are barely discernable. If you are not a sports fan, not only will you benefit from the brightness of the LCD and LED sets, you will also experience greater longevity in your purchase (rumor has it that Plasma's die a lot sooner than LCD/LED). Finally, Plasma's use significantly more energy than LCD/LED. So.
.. Plasma tends to lose friends pretty quickly based on all those things. Finally, regarding sticker price differences (which were not always the case), Plasma has not only suffered from it's technical disadvantages, it has also fallen out of fashion (poor Plasma). Cheers!

Is there anything else printed on either resistor? 10W 10 Watts power rating is a good guess, and reasonable for this kind of resistor, the size you specified, and use in a speaker. R7 could easily mean two things: 7 ohms or 0.7ohms (R is often used as a decimal point in resistor values). If you have access to an ohmmeter, you could measure the unbroken one and see if it's 3 or 0.

7ohms, which *is* a standard resistor value. Once you know the power rating and resistance for sure, you can get a replacement from someplace like digi-key, mouser, etc. The replacement doesn't have to look the same, just have the same resistance and at least the same power rating (more is okay), so instead of cement (square) you might use a ceramic or silicone resistor, which would usually be round.

Many of those radios use an efficient circuit so they do not draw large amounts of current in operation, and the batteries you are usually charging are a bundle of three nicads that are half the size of an "AAA" cell. If you swap those for some regular AAA cells, the charger will not charge them. The same if you tried NiMH types.
