"Collecting," more accurately called hoarding, can also be a sign of severe mental illness. If you've ever been in a hoarder's home, you'll know what I'm talking about. It's difficult to move in their house - path to walk, one place to sit, crawling over things to get in and out of bed, trash everywhere, can't open and close doors or closets, and, in the worst cases, fear of ceiling high stacks falling on you. If you see someone approaching this, the need help. There are those who just like something, buy a lot of it, and like to claim it's an investment. Not really. Their hobby is buying stuff. That's their business, but observe if they spend too much of their money on this. It may actually be an addiction - and they may need help, too

How do churches get money in their collection plates when most people don't carry cash?
My former sister-in-law and her late powerful Mafia husband attended a ritzy Episcopalian church in Pensacola, Florida. Her husbands volunteer job with the church was to size up members, make an estimate regarding how much they could afford to donate to the church, and then politely and with great dignity hit them up for that amount.Clearly, most of the money taken in by these kinds of churches does not arrive via a collection plate. Quite a bit of business takes place in churches, business beyond the scope of what most people think of as religion (unless, of course, one worships mammon, which is actually the point of most churches).I remember Henry grumbling one day about a neurosurgeon hed sized up and then requested a donation from of $15,000 per year for the next 5 years. The neurosurgeon said he would donate $10,000, period. Henry knew full well the man could afford much more.I heard this story long before I learned that all U.S. churches are owned by Freemasonry, a Lucifer-worshiping cult. Oh Henry, Id love to be a fly on the wall and watch and listen while you hit people up for donations, I smirked one day.Oh, how little I knew about churches (and Henry, and my in-laws) at the time."Suicided" by my Navy Air Command-NAVAIR-in-laws & UF Health.

Haven't you gotten rid of your stamps collection from elementary school?
I have some of them still. But, like the others here, as I matured, so did my level of expertise in collecting. I collect only used, not mint. So, not only is centering, perfect perforations, color and no thins mean EVERYTHING to me, so does the amount of ink and placement of the cancellations.I didn't understand this when I was a child. Thus, I filled "holes" in a book. Now, If it isn't fairly perfect, it is not saved. So, I did replace a fair amount of my collection.
I saw a comment by someone else that they collect for the pleasure and enjoyment of collecting and they have gained a great amount of knowledge from it. It is not for the investment. I would whole heartedly agree with this approach. If you want a good investment, put your money in the market or flip houses. Whatever you do with your money, it should please you. For serious collectors, we really do not concider the thought of having to sell it. You will likely get about 10% from a dealer, better if at an auction, perhaps more on ebay. But, you will likely not get back as much as you paid for it. Hmmm....not a good investment? Nope! Not at all. But, it pays great dividens to those who care about the hobby and knowledge, and history

What are the top five reasons behind the slump in the GST collection in India?
Dishonesty - trading community indulge in unfair practices like forming dummy/fake entities and circulate only invoices without movement of goods etc. Imported goods are under-valued leading to lesser IGST and exported goods are over-valued to get more refund of IGST.Evasion - Trading community, be is manufacturing sector or service sector indulge in supply of goods or services without issuing taxable invoices. Greed to have cheaper goods or services by common person encourage it.Unawareness - Consumer does not demand a tax bill on purchases. This encourage evasion in two ways - (a) the trader will try to get more clandestine goods or (b) he issue only invoice, without accompanying goods as the tax he saved by not issuing bill to consumer on delivery of goods is passed on to industries.
Miserliness - In India, we believe more on savings rather to expend more, even on basic needs. This results in less demand means less production and less service. Western countries, Japan or even China encourage consumerism and that is why they are more developed.
Poor implementation and complex system - Even after more than two years, GSTN portal is not effective and there are glitches every now and then. Further, though the law is drafted in very simple language, without any sort of ambiguity, but for doing everything on-line makes it complex

What kind of data is collected in Clinical Trials?
Clinical trials are divided intro three premarketing phases, and a phase four or what is known as post marketing studies.During phase ones; We collect data about safety of the medication, this is why we use healthy volunteers to test the safe use of the medication on healthy individuals. Dose is usually calculated during this phase as well as pharmacokinetic parameters (how the drug behaves in the human being): things like how well it is absorbed, how fast and where it is distributed, what percentage is metabolized and where, and the excretion path of the drug.
As for phase two we try to establish drug efficacy using patients of the disease which this drug is intended to treat, and providing a dose response relationship. or a plasma concentration relationship. Safety is still a concern in this phase and any new data regarding adverse drug reactions are usually recorded.Phase three is a larger scale study that involve large number of patients and intend to provide information about the safety and efficacy of the drug using different patient populations.
Phase four is basically reporting any adverse drug reaction or cases that may appear after the drug is being marketed to the public to the manufacturer of health authorities by health care practitioners

Would you pay to store your DVD collection in a warehouse and stream to your devices?
Depending on the price of the service:Would you pay to store your DVD collection in a warehouse and stream to your devices?Yes I would, absolutely.I would do it for my CD collection as well.I do purchase a lot of music and other content online, but I really like having the original DVD or CD. The the packaging is important to me, the artwork is important, and the "director's remarks" or commentary DVD's are often not available for rental at a brick-and-mortar store or even online like Netfilx. (I gave up my Netflix subscription in protest of them raising prices, and have not missed it since). If I enjoy a movie, I want to hear the director or lead actor comment on shots, dialogue, the decision-making process, sidebars. And you only have access to this DVD if you OWN it.The issue for most people with "things", is physical storage space. So I would love to have this out of my home, off-site (and presumably safe), yet with access to the very few times I do want to view my DVD's.
I'm a movie and music fanatic, though, so I may not be the best indicator of what John Q public wants

Why was it that Canada and the 13 Colonies were not more connected while under British rule and remained distinct rather than being 1 collection of colonies?
I have thought of this question myself, and I dont know what the answer is. It is certainly a good question.I think, for the most part it was the distance, even though it is less than 300 miles from New Jersey to the Canadian border. And then we have New York and Conecticut, which are even closer, New York bordering Ontario, but for the most part, the northern parts of New York were not very populated, but American cities VERY close to the border did more trade with Canada during the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812, than they did with other US States. Vermont in particular.
I think that , at the time, many Americans thought of the war as Englishmen did, it was an inconvenience, and a civil revolt for a SAY in parliament, more than Independance. This is seen in a saying of the time, ALWAYS misquoted We demand our rights as ENGLISHMEN, to representation in parliament. No taxation without representation"So, perhaps both areas were always close, based on the communication of the time.
There just was not much need for communication between Canada and the American colonies. Both were seen in combined news from London, which was the Capitol of all three areas prior to the Revolution
