All I can say is, dont.Youll have some people tell you you have to go out and all that. But its your life, if you still succeed in work/school theres no issue, all you have to do is not play it 24/7.
I think that it is your choice how you live your life. However, if you want to, you need to distance yourself from it for a while, push your boundaries out, go from an easy point, go out and meet some friends for a film, then slowly bring it up more and more.Make your own choices, if you dont like going out all the time, you dont have to.
Its your life

Does training based on electro muscle stimulation actually work?
And how effective are they?
E-stim can be effective for rehab but, as the Russians found out, it has little benefit in training of uninjured athletes. It is true that electricity can cause the muscles to contract even when the rest of the body is too fatigued to generate a voluntary contraction but that is not how you perform your sport or job.
An isolated muscle contraction is useless if you have not trained the nervous system to release the chemicals to cause the muscle to contract, the blood vessels to carry oxygen and glucose the the muscles, the tendons to pull on the bones, the joint to move in the appropriate manner and secrete synovial fluid and the proprioceptors to provide feedback to the brain. The muscle fiber itself is only 1 part of the complex act of purposeful movementsDoes training based on electro muscle stimulation actually work? And how effective are they?

In layman's terms, what is a physiotherapist and what are the highlights of being one?
A physiotherapist is someone who is primarily concerned with a persons body structure and function and how that relates to their ability to move and participate in their preferred activities. Where a personal trainer may look at strength, movement , coordination and form, the physiotherapist looks at the underlying components of these (eg.
the brain, the lungs, the fascia and joints) and how these inter-relate to produce strength movement, coordination and form. The scope is so wide from sports to disability, babies to aging adults - its never boring. Financially there is security in the public sectors or entrepreneurial growth in the private sectors.
Highlights are that you get to change lives and have amazing connections with the people you rehab you get to hang around with awesome people - only the best of people choose to become physiotherapists :).

Why does tenosynovitis take so long to heal?
Tenosynovitis is the medical term for inflammation of the sheath which covers a tendon in the body somewhere.
Most of the time it is due to an over-use situation that eventually leads to chronic inflammation of the involved tendon. This being the case, simply treating it will be a problem. You must remove whatever repetitive activity caused it in the first place or the condition will return.
Many times sports or repetitive motions in a work situation lead to this condition. Changing jobs or altering sports activities are sometimes necesary. Other causes are infections which are rare, but can lead to serious complications if untreated.
Prompt identification and use of antiobiotics are indicated in such cases.A single trauma can also cause the condition. In which case rest, control of the inflammation and rehab usually suffices.

When a struggling athlete goes on the injured list, what percent of the time are they actually injured?
Iu2019m pretty sure that in some professional sports if an athlete is struggling and the problem is not injury related they might be given a few games off.
In hockey, they would be a u201chealthy scratchu201d. In football or baseball they might just sit a few games but u201cbe availableu201d. In baseball, they might send the player down to the Triple A affiliate for u201crehabu201d of their injury.
That scenario could also play out in hockey too. NBA basketball has a limited roster so that doesnu2019t happen the same. If a player is placed on the Injured Reserve, or IR, List then they are actually hurt and will need medical treatment.
There are league rules and players union rules about placing a player on the IR.When a struggling athlete goes on the injured list, what percent of the time are they actually injured?.

Which is the best hospital/doctor for knee replacement in bangalore?
My father went with both knee replacement under doctor KS Manjunath in excel care hospital. Dr.
Manjunath is HOD of Ortho dept in Bowring Hospital, Bangalore. And I must say that he is an excellent doctor who give right advice. He is not money minded at all and will suggest you best knee based on person's requirement.
And yes before going to him we enquired with Fortis, Apollo, Manipal and couple of other doctors as well but everywhere I felt like cheated mostly (my personal opinion). After a lot of discussion and enquiries we stumbled upon to Dr. Manjunath.
Within 2 months my father used to walk very well and its been 1.5 years now and he has not faced any issue till now. I will recommend Dr.

Is ACL reconstruction absolutely necessary?
My mom is turning 80 in Jan. 5 yrs.
ago she was Country Line Dancing. The Orthopedic Surgeon told her she HAD to have surgery. She was on crutches but went to the pool and "walked" in the water when the pain subsided.
She was checking in with her Dr. every few weeks then every couple of months until it came to every 6 months until she didn't go. She hasn't had any problem since.
However, she is not doing "active sports" as the guy that FIRST ANSWERED this question. So, that may make a difference. However, POOL Therapy is used in rehab.
for Total Hip Replacements for range of motion and healing in Fibromyalgia etc. There is NO WEIGHT in the water as long as you are instructed what to do. Always check w/ your Dr!

Itu2019s been 5 months since I sprained my ankle and every time I play sports, it gets swollen. Is something else wrong with my ankle?
Yes, you either haven't rehabbed it at all or properly. There will be a scar tissue formation around the joint that was initially sent down to the area as inflammation to help healing process and it has now hardened and prevents full function or range of movement when using the joint. If you can find someone that performs u201cGraston Techniqueu201d, they may be able to help you as its a tool assisted soft tissue release that removes old built up scar tissue formations.
That coupled with some proper rehab exercises and range of movement for ankle sprains should help you immensely if you do them correctItu2019s been 5 months since I sprained my ankle and every time I play sports, it gets swollen. Is something else wrong with my ankle?

I am feeling uncomfortable even after 3 months of ACL surgery, it seems something is different in the operated leg, is it ok?
hello,I have studied your case and I can say that feeling something vague is not very clear. Do you have pain, swelling or instability or weakness? A complete ACL healing takes 9 months for healing so during this time patient can have above-mentioned symptoms.
If pain and swelling are very excessive then it can be due to infection. Instability and weakness are due to a lack of good rehabilitation and exercises. So I would suggest you be more specific about your symptoms.
If you want any other help then we have online consultancy service available with us. You can contact through direct message. I am feeling uncomfortable even after 3 months of ACL surgery, it seems something is different in the operated leg, is it ok?

What is the worst thing about being a sports coach?
The toughest thing about coaching anything is toxic parenting and parents in general. Many parents want their special little snow-flake to have a unique Disney-world experience as they move through their childhood years.
As a coach, I have had high school boys in tears, I have had parents in tears, I have had parents yelling at each other in emails. It is my firm belief that any competitive activity for children will eventually be ruined by helicopter parents, toxic parents, drunk parents, and bat shit crazy parents. One parent summed it up at a dinner, she looked at me from across the table and asked me, Do you know what I drink?
.I shook my head no.Other peoples parenting styles.
she answered as she took are next sip of beer. Oh and for the record, Hockey parents are the absolute worst.

Is it normal that my ankle sprain still hurts when running or jumping after a few minutes when the injury happened just under 4 months? I didn't use RICE at the time and still played basketball a bit in the earlier stages.
Should i start rehab?
Sprains can take a long time to heal because of the nature of the tissue involved.See, a sprain is damage to the ligament - ligaments are bands of cartilage that attach bones to each other.
Cartilage has a poor blood supply. Not sure why - it just does. That's just how it is designed.
Poor blood supply means it takes longer for nutrients to get there, and therefore, longer healing time. I'd suggest you consider going to a sports physical therapy clinic. They'll be able to do an assessment and determine if rehab is needed and what you should be doing specifically.

How can I protect my young daughters from my wifeu2019s extreme depression?
Be their rock.
Be yourself very emotionally stable. For this you need to take time for yourself too, which I realize can be tricky.Be empathetic to your wife to do what you can to ease her pain through true empathy.
See if she is open to a counselor. Sometimes we need someone outside our lives to talk with and that can feel more safe than talking to someone close to us. Love.
Love. Love. Accept.
Accept. Accept. Be attentive to the emotional needs of your daughters, your self, and your wife.
Do what you can for your wife, but ultimately keep yourself 100 and overflow to your daughters.Take over what responsibilities you can to take the pressure off of your wife where appropriate.
