The cheetah 3 weighs about 90 pounds and is equipped with hardware that allows its trunk to stretch forward and backward, and tilt left and right.
Without vision, motion relies more on tactile perception: when a slight collision of limbs is detected, it can quickly judge which part of the body needs to move, lift or put down.
In addition, its algorithm also includes a predictive model to evaluate which action combination can make the movement smoother in the next half second according to the environmental data.
Cheetah 3 will be exhibited at the intelligent robot conference in October.
