SPRINGER--Gerard K. Beloved husband of Sylvia, cherished father of Tracy and Susan, adored grandfather of Ian, Nina and Lila. Passed away February 27, 2008. He will be greatly missed and always remembered for his love and devotion, fun-loving spirit, warmth and humor. Jerry was raised in New York City, lived most of his life in New Rochelle, New York and retired to McLean, Virginia. As an owner of Springer-Penguin, Inc., an office furniture and compact refrigerator manufacturer in Mount Vernon, New York, he was a leader and innovator in the fields of modern office furniture and refrigerator design and engineering. In his younger days, he was an active volunteer in Big Brothers of Westchester County. Service and interment Friday at 11 am at Mt. Eden Cemetery in Hawthorne, New York. In honor of his memory, donations may be made to Big Brothers and Big Sisters through Family Service of Westchester.
