first of all: most people DO NOT want to break in your home, if YOU ARE AT home...so maybe that will help ease your mind, and help you understand this you do not need to shoot someone with a bb gun. get real...i used to shoot those things at my friend all the time, they do nothing...if you did shoot at them, the robber will probably laugh, then get pissed. the best way to get rid of the guy/girl is, make yourself known. Cut on lights, make noises, turn on the TV....this lets them know that someone is home and they picked the wrong time for a break in. YOU CAN NOT stab them...in fact, do not attack them... just make yourself known, call the cops... and be verbally assertive. Most robbers will just leave scared. If the do not , then lock yourself in a part of the house...get your family first if you can. You and your family should have a discussion on what to do if this situation should arise. ... PROACTIVE planning is better than REACTIVE actions...in the heat of the moment, you can not think straight...however, if you had a plan already, then most people will by default...stick to the plan. DO NOT SHOOT THEM WITH A TOY GUN, and DO NOT STAB ANYONE.... jeez
1. When can I use deadly force durring a home invasion in california?
I do not know about California, but I would assume that if someone broke into your house and you thought that your family was in danger, you would be justified in using deadly force. Just make sure you kill them so that they can not sue you
2. What are the best precautions against a home invasion?
Plenty of outdoor lighting, an alarm system, deadbolt locks, window blinds, and taking advantage of your 2nd Amendment right are all great precautions
3. I read a lot on Quora about "getting the right gun to protect against home invasion". How often does home invasion happen in the U.S.?
Actually, home invasion is quite rare, in the US.Far less common than in the UK, for example.Or, at least, burglars in the UK are four to five times more likely to choose an occupied residence in the UK as in the US.
4. Are guard dog apps, which bark at the sound of an intruder, effective against home invasion?
A2AQuestion: Are guard dog apps, which bark at the sound of an intruder, effective against home invasion?NOTE: I have never used one of these apps so my answer will be speculative.I'm going with "No", they are not very effective. Why?A home invasion implies that the assailants have been watching your dwelling and have an idea as to your comings and goings, as well as a rough indication of the number of occupants - If you don't have a dog, they'll know. The barking will be pointless and quickly recognized for the fraud that it is.Unless the barking was very loud, it would be pointless - The home invaders would hear the "barking", determine that it wasn't real and ignore it. They would go about their business, robbing your home. The barking wouldn't be random - Dogs bark at random intervals. An app would be unlikely to repeat itself in that manner and would quickly be recognized for the fraud that it is.The app may not always work - If it didn't, then it would be useless and you couldn't depend upon it. Frankly, if you don't want or can't have a dog, it would be better to invest in the best alarm system that you can afford (including a CCTCV component) than it would be to use a faux dog alarm app.Are guard dog apps, which bark at the sound of an intruder, effective against home invasion?
5. Is it ever ok to ask a burglar to tie you up in a home invasion?
I am going out on a limb here and guessing that you are just looking for a good reason to get tied up. No, it would not be normal to ask a burglar to tie you up, they would find that weird and might take it as an invitation to do more than just take your belongings. You are also stuck with how to get out of the ropes once the burglar leaves.
