What Unique Collectables Do You Have?

Thank you, my friend, for asking me to reply to your question. Good Evening.I seem to have this unusual hobby of collecting congenital birth defects. Oh, I know that once you are born, it is impossible to be born with more problems, that you already have.

By the time I was nine years of age, I had already endured as many surgical corrections as I had years of life. Yet, even now, at the age of seventy, doctors are still finding problems I was born with, that have waited to manifest themselves, even up until this very year.Frankly, Im quite surprised one person can have so damned many things go wrong, in only the one body. Just to give you a hint, on the day before Thanksgiving, I will be undergoing my fourth surgery since last May.Now, if that doesnt sound like Im collecting the bloody birth defects, I dont know what a collection would consist of.I sincerely hope you have a very healthy Evening, my friend.

Has Quora separated into various little fiefdom, where in, people stay and not venture yonder? In other words, is Quora a collection of bubble like realities?

If you read the answers here, you might have a false impression Quora have become a collection bubbles of realities or it is designed to so. It is not. People are just comfortable with their own comfort zones and made it their objective. They formed the bubbles themselves. Yet if bubbles formed from blocking, muting and running away from what they deemed bad, ( While it is not wrong ) it is honestly very sad.

Anyone who cannot handle different views and hide themselves, will ultimately become the very thing they claim others are - The trolls, propagandist, the snobs and the ignorantBubbles are formed because of human tendency to be tribal. It is not a human ability. All the answers so far missed this - Quora is not a living human. It does not make decision for us to be in bubbles. We made the decision.

Quora is one big collection of subjects for anyone to browse. That is Quora objective and true structure. It is meant for users to explore different views and perspectives. We can choose to like or dislike what we read

Index based ETFs are generally a low cost investment, and substantially lower in cost than investing in the same exposure of individually purchased shares. Because the funds are managed using an index approach the cost to manage is generally less than actively managed fundsManagement feesA management fee applies to ETFs as with any other managed fund. Is there a difference between data collection and data extraction?

Data collection is a process of gathering and measuring information, it requires various tools and techniques to gather data to that help in evaluating the outcome.Collecting accurate data is essential to maintain the integrity of research, therefore most of the data collection process is done using a Data Collection App that collects data using mobile forms on iPad & Android tablets. Now, these collected data is meaningful when users can view the data in statistical format & extract it for any further purpose.

With an app like Brew Survey, users can create beautiful mobile forms without any technical skills & publish it on smartphones, iPad & Android tablets that allows Data Collection as well as Data Extraction. With its offline data collection feature, users can collect data from remote locations even without internet. All the data is stored in the device & is synced to the server when the device is auto connected to the internet.

All the collected data is presented in an illustrative line & pie graph that lets users understand the data in a glimpse, the data can even be extracted in a few simple clicks

What comic books and graphic novels should be included in a university library's collection, and why?

All these answers are basically correct, but why is the question only about graphic novels and comic books. What about the so-called funnies, and just newspaper strips in general. Basically all those collections that Fantagraphics puts out.

George Herrimans Krazy Kat - taken together they are one of the greatest works of 20th century art, championed by ee cummings, Gilbert Seldes, even Picasso and James Joyce supposedly read them (or had them read to them!)

Walt Kellys Pogo - one of the greatest examples of satire.

Charles Schulz Peanuts - just for cultural importance, alone.

Winsor McCays Little Nemo - pure art!

Bill Wattersons Calvin & Hobbes - is it really necessary to sing the praises for this!

But also some franco-belgian stuff: Goscinny & Uderzos Asterix, for example.

And of course Herges Tintin.

Either Ive overlooked it, or I cant believe nobodys mentioned Neil Gaimans Sandman.

And I wouldnt even put them in a special section, either, but rather have Alan Moores work, for example, stand between Henry Miller and Vladimir Nabokov somewhere.

Are Funko Pop collectibles valuable?

Like any collectible its worth is only what a collector places upon it.

I have an 900 piece Pop collection & according to the PopPriceGuide site its worth over nineteen thousand dollars.

I naturally chuckle at that since of course I didnt pay anywhere near that amount & I sincerely doubt I would get that much for it if I ever decided to sell the whole thing.According to the site the most expensive one I have currently (April 2020) is Rocky Balboa at $410.00 although, Im guessing in box, mine is not.Would the average person look at this piece of plastic and give me 400 bucks for it of course not, but because its not made any longer and only a limited number were made in the first place, and presumably no more will be made, its rare therefore expensive. So ignoring the collectors side of it, are they worth anything, sure, theyre worth whatever the cost was to produce them initially. I dont know what that was, but after that the price is really arbitrary.

What happens to all the old Indian rupees that are about to get torn? How are they found and collected before recycling?

Individuals submit soiled notes to banks for replacement. Once the soiled notes are received by the banks, they send it to the regional RBI branch office. They are then checked and verify for quality as well as quantity, using machines. Thereafter, they are sent to the RBI main branch. RBI destroys such currency and provides fresh notes in the circulation. This way, old notes are taken back from the system while new notes are reintroduced. If the currency is mutilated excessively and not in a condition to be recognized, then such currency can be rejected by the banks. Currency notes which are burnt or written across or torn into pieces are not accepted by the banks. It is important that you deposit a soiled note in your nearest bank branch. If such currency does not get deposited in the bank, then the circulation of money is reduced to that extent in the market.Additional Read:What To Do When You Get Fake Notes From An ATM

Java has automatic garbage collection. Why wasn't similar feature added to C in revised versions of language?

There are a couple of reasons that C doesn't have any garbage collection system. In essence, it's a trade-off between control and automation.

If you want to make developers life easier, the language itself can abstract a bunch of features so that developers don't need to consider all the details. Specifically, languages like Java and Python, developers have little knowledge about how memory is allocated in the underlying system and the languages just take care of everything.

The other option is that developers have full control over those details, like C. Languages like this allow/encourage people to explicitly deal with memory allocation/recycling.

There are pros and cons for both approaches. C is more transparent to developers and with full control over memory management, people are more likely to write high-performance code. On the flip side, more controls also mean that it's prone to error and you need extra work when coding. That's exactly why many people find Python comfortable since it just abstracted everything.

This article has a great discussion on this topic and I've learned a lot from it.

Why do guitar players have so many guitars in their collection?

Thanks for the A2A Sara! There are more than one reason why some players have many guitars in their possession. Some simply like nice things and guitar is the thing they fancy the most. It is one form of collection.Other people collect guitars that are of certain colors, certain types, certain brands, certain areas or years (like being vintage). It is another form of collecting things.

Then you have working (studio or gigging) musicians that simply need a variety of guitars in able to do their job. Different guitars sound and plays differently. Some are set up certain ways (for slide playing, different tuning etc), then you have acoustic steel, nylon, 12-string instruments and what not.

You have players that do reviews for instance on YouTube. These tends to be sent or given instruments to review and some times even to keep. Plus, many of them are also collectors or plays for a living on the side.

Then you have the hobby musician who may treat their hobby (playing, gigging, recording) more like a professional player when it comes to acquiring instruments
