Just get in and do it. College isnt going to teach you anything you cant teach yourself. Almost invariably, the most talented people are entirely self-taught.
Dont delay, just get in and make the business you want. I started my first real business at 16, while still at senior school. My first not-so-real business was in pre-school (prep, kindy, whatever you want to call it).
All of my businesses have been developed from nothing. They have all become valuable businesses because I just kept at it, and I got out there to tell people about what we were doing.Do it!

Are electric guitars costing over 2 grand worth it?
The only ones that can answer this question are the ones that purchase these guitars.I've been playing guitar for almost 55 years in 2020.
A few years ago, I bought a Taylor 814ce acoustic/electric guitar. With case; it was $3,300. 00.
Sure, it was a GREAT guitar, and the quality was top notch; but- , it was not me, and I soon traded it in.I've since owned guitars that were 1/3 the price of that Taylor, and they are the best Ive owned in almost 55 years a guitar player.Bottom line?
Ive learned that more expensive is not always better, and: The only ones that can answer that question Are they worth it? are the ones that play them.

How big is the potential of 3D printing in India?
3D printing has a very bright future not only in India but everywhere in the world. As my thoughts go, I think 3D printing is going to be the next revolution just like the IT revolution. Here are some interesting thoughts which I have about 3D printing.
1. Today's young generation is very fascinated of smart phones. They change their phones very often.
Just imagine how great it would be to print a smartphone of one's choice instead of spending money on each purchase.2. It would be awesome to print fancy clothes and other stuffs.
3. For disabled people, it would be of a great social help to 3D print the devices to help them overcome their disability.4.
It would of a great significance to middle class people, as their spendings would reduce by a large amount.5. And how awesome would it be to print a 3D printer itself?
3D printers have a great deal of uses, especially for underdeveloped and developing countries. My ideas were just preliminary.

Is it cheaper to build or buy furniture?
Speaking strictly in financial terms, is cheaper to build your own furniture. But you have to be clear of what kind of furniture are you thinking. This is because a sofa, for example, can be considered a joint of wood, glue, leather or fabrics and some staples.
But mostly, is not this way. A Barcelona Sofa is not only the mix of the materials that made it a whole piece. In fact, the materials that are part of a Barcelona Sofa are not precisely quite expensive.
Rather, they are more of the industrial kindA Barcelona Sofa is the conjunction of Design, Expertise and manufacturing processes that assure you that your sofa will last for many years, as a piece of exceptional beauty and endurance. If you build your own sofa, it sure will be a great personal experience. Maybe it will help you to find some interior enrichment and even a way of life, but in many cases is better put your money where it really serves you in the long term

What manufacturing equipment would you need to set up a midsize fully functioning furniture manufacturing business for residential use?
It depends on the kind of products you want to make. The machinery needed to manufacture upholstery products are much more different from the ones needed to manufacture small tables or chairs (and much less costly). It also depends on what kind of material you want to use.
You want to use wood - and in wood, timber or panels? Plastic? Glass?
And the kind of techniques you want to use, too. If you want to make Thonet-style bentwood objects you need some machinery, while if you plan to use basic cuts and joinery you need others. All in all, it is not easy to tell you what you need.
The basic wood machinery would be an assortment of fixed saws, planers, drills, sanders, jointers, and round-pole milling machines, both manual and CNC operated - but of course you could start from the very basic machines and use power tools for the less intensive operations, and then buy up.Feel free to contact me privately if you need any other professional info

How much does a CNC router cost?
A CNC router machine is designed to cut, drill, cart, and rout a variety of materials, including wood, plastics, rubber, acrylic and certain types of metal.
They are automated machines that operate with incredible accuracy and speed.CNC router machines used in variety of industries, including furniture design, circuit board manufacturing and plastics manufacturing. They can be used to carve wood, create moldings, design craft items - or the can be used to high-tech manufacturing.
The list of possibilities is quite long.Modern CNC router machines are much more efficient than the hand tools of the past. They rely on computers to tell the motors how far to move and where to cut.
You'll need an employee to set up the machine and tell it where to cut, but after that the process is entirely automated. The employee can walk away until the process is complete. There are several types of CNC routers, each with varying price ranges:Two-axis models are designed primarily for hobbyists.
Three- and four-axis models are the most common for industrial applications. The four-axis allows for more detailed carving work.Five-axis models are only used in very advanced and high-tech industries, such as automotive and aerospace.
Speed and automation are the greatest advantages CNC routers provide over traditional hand tools. You can accomplish jobs at a much faster pace and with fewer employees - saving both time and money.CNC Router Average CostsMost CNC machines cost tens of thousands of dollars.
But before you faint from sticker shock, consider the long-term savings the machines provide. The most basic of three-axis models sell for anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000.Mid-range machines used for panel processing and signage are likely to cost anywhere from $25,000 to $50,000.
High-end machines often cost $50,000 to $150,000.Additional CNC Router Costs and FeesIn addition to the machine itself, you'll need to purchase a computer-aided design (CAD) software package in order to create the designs. Those usually run anywhere from $2,500 to $10,000.
Training usually costs anywhere from $500 to $1,000 per day. Depending on the knowledge level of your staff, the process could take a few hours or several days. Installation also tends to run $500 to $1,000 per day.
Shipping starts at several hundred dollars and can cost up to $3,000.Some dealers offer packages that bundle the cost of the machine, training, shipping, and installation. So be sure to ask if a package like that is available before deciding on your purchase.

How does industrial design look like and what is the future of it ? Is industrial design linked to engineering or science at least a bit? Does it have much common with computer technologies now?
Industrial design is a creative profession which does all types of physical product design, from vehicles to furniture to mass produced products to aircraft interiors, and so on. Itu2019s a distinct degree program at many universities and design schools, covering both technical and creative topics. It will have a future as long as society has a need for new and better products.
Itu2019s related to engineering, but more practical and concerned with aesthetics and ergonomics rather than just the technical aspect. Engineers and industrial designers often work together to resolve details and get a product into production. It uses computers to help create designs and make prototypes, with CAD software, 3D printers and CNC machining.

Is TechShop dot ws a makerspace/learning centre?
Kathryn's answer is detailed and accurate. She spends a lot of time there, so I won't repeat her lists.
If you're not sure what's at TechShop, but you think might be of use, call or walk in sometime and ask to take a tour. They will generally accommodate you as long as someone is available to show you around, and the staff will be able to answer your questions directly.TechShop is a maker space, in the sense that it has resources for people who might want to make things.
They have both tools and people who can introduce you to the knowledge and skills to use them. The staff provide general help ("how do I use this machine?") to members on request, and can be hired to work on specific, in-depth project questions.
They have "safety and basic use" (SBU) classes, which are required before you can use the equipment, and they sometimes have optional classes to teach specific crafts or techniques.TechShop is great for designing and building your prototypes and making initial, short runs of things. I doubt it would quite take the place of a startup incubator (although it may be a good place for networking and getting in touch with some).
It also wouldn't take the place of a job shop, which is the sort of small- to medium-scale production facility you may want to seek out once you've got a design locked in and want to hire someone to make the next hundred or thousand units of something

Where should I buy my guitar?
Guitar Center or your local music shop may be the quickest way to buy a guitar. But it is not the cheapest way, as they operate for profit and they purchase instruments for a lower cost than what you will pay.
Buy from a desperate person who is down on their luck and is on the way to try to sell a guitar in a hurry. Stay away from the drug addicts. have a few hundred saved and then just wait for the opportunity while keeping your eyes peeled.
the only way to get prices better than that is to buy from thieves and I don't recommend that. There is also a good opportunity in broken stuff. you can buy broken guitars or project guitars on eBay for incredibly cheap and then you can throw a few hundred at your local luthier and get some parts and you can have a pretty decent guitar for less than what you would pay otherwise.
it takes a lot of work but it strengthens your relationship with your luthier and ends you up with a custom instrument and that will always play better than the factory standard stuff!
